Musical - 2050: The Future We Want

Green Cross International, in collaboration with Peace Child International, will stage for the first time a youth-driven, inspirational, and informative musical performance focusing on solutions to the most pressing challenges facing humanity and the environment.

The musical, entitled 2050: The Future We Want, is set in the Year 2050 and revolves around characters who live in a world that has managed to overcome the major ecological and related humanitarian challenges of today: climate change, unsustainable development, nuclear weapons proliferation, pollution, inequity, injustice, and manmade environmental emergencies. The story will take audience members on a journey back through time, from 2050 to our contemporary period.

An international cast, including youth drawn from around the world, will perform the musical, which will include songs by legendary musician Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens).

The 3 September performance will mark the culmination of an almost 2-year production, including a global casting call and rehearsals, and will mark the finale of Green Cross International's 20th anniversary celebrations.

When:  03 August 2013 - 03 September 2013

Time:  7pm

Where:  Assembly Hall, Palais des Nations, United Nations at Geneva, Switzerland
